About Us
Welcome to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel! We've been providing full-service funeral home services since 1960. We are proudly family-owned, family-operated, and multi-generational. We provide full-service funeral services while keeping the integrity of your loved one intact. We offer a complete array of keepsakes and memorabilia. We carry vaults, urns, sharing urns, and more. Rees Funeral Home was established in 1960 by Jerry and Mary Jane Rees. In 1985 they purchased the Olson Chapel in Portage. In 1990, James Krause, a longtime employee, and Patricia A. Rees, the Rees' daughter purchased the funeral homes. In 1993 they purchased the Brady funeral home in Lake Station. Patty and Jim have since fully retired. At that time Jim's son, Josh, his wife, Tory, and Jim's daughter, Julie purchased the funeral homes. The Krause family and their staff are very dedicated to providing our community with the tradition of a family-owned-and-operated business that believes in service. We'll be there for you when you need us.

she too wanted her services preformed by Rees in Hobart. Prior to our mother's passing in December 2024, with the need of our family to pre-plan her services and still today two months later, every staff member we have had contact with has shown the care, helpfulness, and understanding needed during this difficult time. Their professionalism and willingness to help in any way has made this time of loss easier to manage and will forever be greatly appreciated.
